Fiona has 20 years’ experience as a litigation attorney and now specialises in Administrative and Constitutional law within the public law environment. Fiona has a B Soc. Sc. from UCT, an LLB (Cum Laude) from Wits and LLM from UCT.
Fiona completed her articles at Fairbridges in 1992, and went on to become a partner in that firm for over 10 years before joining the Western Cape Provincial Government as a legal adviser in the Premier’s office, in 2009.
In her early years Fiona handled a busy family law practise and was invited to be a member of the South African Law commission tasked with drafting the Family Violence Legislation that is in force today.
In the course of her career Fiona has been a guest speaker at the International Bar Association, drafted various pieces of municipal legislation and been the legal adviser in numerous high profile litigation cases in both the Supreme Court of Appeal as well as the Constitutional Court.
